Lesson Plan TPACK

 TPACK

Today, we were taken through the another ICT integration model that is called as TPACK. TPACK is  an instructional process or step by step process for teaching using technology. Under this model, we need to know about the three domains. The three domain are Content Knowledge, which is what teachers know. It describes about the teacher's knowledge about the subject matter to be learned or taught. The second domain include the Pedagogical knowledge which is all about how they teach. Utilizing the knowledge and putting into the practice of transmitting the knowledge in an interesting way for the students to learn. Lastly, it is the technological knowledge, whereby it is about how technology is used. I will be writing a lesson plan based on these three domain of TPACK in the following.

Integrating TPACK model in Primary Lesson Planning

Lesson no. 2

Subject: social studies

Class: IV

Time: 50 minutes

Topic: landforms

Teaching learning materials: google slides, interactive map application with landform layers (e.g., Google Earth), images of various landforms (mountains, hills, valleys, plains, plateaus)

Previous knowledge: Students have already seen the different forms of landforms.

Lesson objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

1. Define landforms accurately in their own words without the help of teachers.

2. List 2 examples of different landforms correctly after the teacher's demonstration.

3. Differentiate the various landforms accurately without the help of teacher's.

Lesson Introduction

Before starting a new chapter, the teacher will recapitulate the previous lesson on my village. The teacher will ask every students to look outside and observe what they see in the surroundings. The teacher will ask questions as the following:

a. What did you see?

b. Did you see mountain?

c. Are all the shape of the mountain same?

d. Give some names of the mountain that you know.

After the question answer session, the teacher will provide information on the various landforms.

Lesson Development

Project Google Earth(https://earth.google.com/). Guide students to explore the application and locate different landforms around the world. Use the zoom function to showcase specific examples (e.g., Mount Everest, Great Plains). Discuss how these landforms influence the surrounding environment and human settlements.

Follow up

Distribute images of various landforms. Instruct them to discuss the image, identify the landform type, and brainstorm how these landforms might be formed (e.g., volcanic activity for mountains, erosion for valleys).

Discussion

Bring the class together for a discussion. Review the different types of landforms learned and how natural processes shape Earth's surface. Address any questions or misconceptions.

Lesson closure

As an exit ticket, have students write a short paragraph describing one landform they learned about and how it is formed.
